DR. NATHAN D. IVEY

Dr. Ivey was born and raised in Washington and Oregon and comes from a family of 10. He graduated with a degree in Biology from Brigham Young University. He got his podiatry degree from California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1999. Looking for sunshine brought Dr. Ivey and his family to New Mexico for residency training at both the VA Hospital and Lovelace Health Systems. His three years of training and board certification puts him in the top percentage of podiatrists who generally have one to two years of training. He has specialty training in rearfoot and ankle reconstruction as well as training in all aspects of trauma of the foot and ankle. He also took an interest in podiatric sports medicine and is very adept at using orthotics to control a variety of foot problems that would otherwise require surgery. He is one of only a few physicans in New Mexico using orthotripsy (shockwave therapy), which is the newest non-surgical alternative to treat heel and arch pain.

Dr. Ivey is involved in many activities within the community. He volunteers his time for Healthcare for the Homeless and is actively involved with teaching through the VA Hospital podiatric residency program. He is on active staff in both the Lovelace and Presbyterian hospitals.  Outside of work Dr. Ivey enjoys many outdoor activities, is active in his church and loves just hanging out with his wife and four children.

Dr. Ivey is Board Certified in both Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is currently serving as Vice President of the New Mexico Podiatric Medical Association and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.  He is also an associate member of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.
