Dr. Andrew Torigian was born and raised in Southeast Michigan. After high school, he attended Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, where he studied Kinesiology. This sparked his interest in sports medicine and ultimately pursuing a career in Podiatry.
He then attended podiatry school at William M. Scholl College at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, Illinois. Here, he received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree and graduated in the Pi Delta National Honors Society for his academic achievements.
After graduating from podiatry school, Andrew moved out west for his residency education at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah. He gained extensive training in all aspects of foot and ankle pathology and surgery. This included forefoot and rearfoot/hindfoot reconstruction, diabetic limb salvage, wound care and trauma. Notably, he was able to continue expanding on his love for sports medicine while practicing in the avid skiing, hiking and mountain biking community that Utah has to offer. During his third year of residency, he served as the Chief Resident of the residency program and took an interest in the academic role providing monthly lectures for his program academics.
Dr. Torigian decided to pursue an additional year of Fellowship training with Dr. Gregory Anderson based in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. He has been in practice for over 35 years with an extensive background in surgery, practice management, product development and resident/fellow education that Dr. Torigian was able to learn from. He is excited to now bring a part of Dr. Anderson’s history to his own practice and serve his patients with the best possible
podiatric care.
Dr. Torigian is board qualified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Andrew’s interests outside of work include skiing, off-roading to explore new terrain, playing video games and finding the next food joint. Just prior to joining the practice, Dr. Torigian married his wife in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is very excited to start his family and continue his podiatric career in Albuquerque with the New Mexico Foot and Ankle Institute, as well as explore all that New Mexico has to offer.
